Health and Community Services Day

• Objective: To gain knowledge and understanding of what is happening in the healthcare arena and to heighten awareness of preventive strategies for health. Also, to explore services of several Shelby County Community Services agencies.

Health & Community Services Day grants the class insight into how Shelby County’s public community and health agencies plan, implement, and expand resources aimed at creating a county that is more mindful of their health and personal wellness. Tours of medical facilities and panels from community organizers make this day one of the most program’s most diverse in terms of how many types of resources the class gets to hear from.
