Objective: To gain an accurate perspective of education in Shelby County by exposing class participants to educational resources and examining critical issues facing K-12 through higher education.
On Education Day, the class hears from local leaders in education--such as administrators, superintendents, and department heads--to learn about the different ways Shelby County supports its students on the K-12 and post-graduate levels. The class walks away from this day with a more comprehensive understanding of how they can invest in these educational support systems and resources so that Shelby County youth will have the tools necessary to one day become leaders in their community.
